Last week, our HR and Payroll teams gathered in Colorado for an energizing annual meeting that reflected the heart of their work: supporting people while shaping a strong, connected workplace.
Set against the backdrop of the Rockies, the week blended strategic collaboration with meaningful moments of connection, creating space for focused planning, creativity, and fun.
A Thoughtful Start Focused on Connection
The meeting began with a shared experience designed to bring everyone together after travel and set the tone for the days ahead. What was billed as “Pasta Wars with the Business Development Team” quickly became a collaborative, lighthearted session centered more on mastering pasta-making than any real rivalry.
From the start, the goal was clear: foster an environment where collaboration thrives, voices are heard, and relationships are strengthened. This intentional approach reflects how the team shows up every day…creating experiences that build trust, inclusion, and alignment across the organization.

Driving Strategy That Puts People First
Midweek sessions shifted into focused discussions around key people priorities and initiatives. With clear objectives, the team engaged in open dialogue, aligning on goals while making room for reflection and new ideas.
These conversations went beyond planning. They were about strengthening the systems and practices that support employees and reinforce culture, ensuring the organization continues to grow in thoughtful and sustainable ways.
Balancing Impactful Work with Creative Energy
True to the team’s people-first philosophy, the agenda also allowed for free time and team-building experiences outside the meeting room. These moments reinforced an important truth the team knows well: the best work happens when people feel connected, energized, and supported.
Leadership Investment That Makes a Difference
The impact of the meeting was made possible by leadership’s continued investment in people and culture.
“I’m incredibly thankful that Marie and the TAKKION leadership team continue to invest in events like this,” shared Cassidy Koch, HR Admin. “Having the time and space to come together strengthens our team in meaningful ways, and that directly impacts the level of support we’re able to provide across the organization.”
Why This Meeting Mattered
This gathering was more than an annual checkpoint. It reflected the team’s ongoing influence on the employee experience and the organization as a whole. Their ability to balance strategy with genuine human connection helps create a workplace where people can do their best work.
We are grateful for the dedication, care, and leadership this team brings every day. Their efforts don’t just support our employees, they help define what it means to work at TAKKION.
