Centennial, CO — January 14, 2026 — TAKKION, a leading integrated service provider for the renewable energy industry, today announced the appointment of Pete Bierden as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Bierden succeeds Jim Orr, who will transition to the role of Executive Director and serve as an advisor to Bierden and the Board, supporting a seamless succession as part of TAKKION’s long-term leadership planning.
“For nearly 15 years, I’ve had the honor of serving as TAKKION’s CEO, and I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together,” said Jim Orr, former CEO of TAKKION. “What started as a small team working hard to survive has grown into a company of more than 2,000 employees — a direct reflection of the dedication, talent, and grit of our people. Pete is the right leader for TAKKION’s next chapter. He understands our business at its core, including our customers, our operations, and the people who make it all possible. I have full confidence in his leadership and look forward to supporting him and the Board in this next phase.”
Bierden joined TAKKION as President in June 2025, working closely with Orr and the executive team on strategy, operations, and organizational alignment. He brings more than two decades of leadership experience across renewable energy, industrial services, and operational safety.
A former Navy submarine officer, Bierden developed his leadership foundation around disciplined execution, safety, and accountability. Earlier in his career, he helped scale the wind energy business at General Electric and later held senior executive roles leading large, geographically distributed organizations through periods of growth and transformation.
“I’m honored to step into the role of CEO and deeply grateful for Jim’s leadership and mentorship,” said Pete Bierden, CEO of TAKKION. “TAKKION has been built on a strong foundation of values, teamwork, and a commitment to doing things the right way. As we look ahead, our focus remains clear: create meaningful opportunities for our people, deliver exceptional service for our customers, and continue moving energy forward safely and sustainably.”
Under Orr’s leadership, TAKKION evolved into a diversified, full scope service partner for the renewable energy industry — enabling customers to rely on a single, integrated provider across logistics, transportation, construction, crane and rigging, maintenance, operations and repair, remanufacturing, and electrical services. His tenure was defined by a steadfast commitment to safety, investment in people, and a culture rooted in trust and accountability.
As TAKKION enters 2026, the company remains focused on advancing operational excellence, strengthening its culture, and delivering long-term value to customers, partners, and employees across North America. With Bierden at the helm and Orr continuing in an advisory capacity, TAKKION is well positioned to accelerate innovation and continue moving the industry forward.
