The conference provided a platform for professionals to come together and exchange knowledge on the challenges facing the wind industry, particularly related to drivetrain reliability. Here’s what our team members had to say about their experiences:
Paul Terwee, Quality Manager for Remanufacturing, reflected on his first time attending the event: “It was an awesome opportunity to listen to some of the industry leaders discuss the challenges we’re facing and hear all of these solutions being proposed. These discussions will help strengthen the wind industry in the years to come.”
Cooper Eliason, Field Service Engineer, shared his thoughts on the value of networking with other engineers: “It was a great experience to be with like-minded individuals in the industry and discuss updates on drivetrain reliability. There’s a lot of research and development going on across the industry to ensure that wind energy has a bright future.”

Dan Creegan, Director of Specialty Services, described the event as eye-opening: “Attending the DRC conference gave me the opportunity to engage with industry experts, share knowledge, and deepen my understanding of wind turbine reliability challenges and innovations. The collaboration and insights gained will undoubtedly drive better solutions for the future.”
Finally, Josh Ackerman, Business Development Manager, highlighted the importance of data collection and research in advancing the industry: “It’s always impressive to see how much data collection, research, and collaboration go on behind the scenes to identify and correct common issues. NREL’s DRC conference brings real-world issues to the forefront and helps connect industry professionals with academia to make sense of the data and trends in order to find solutions and mitigation strategies.”
The conference offered invaluable insights into the wind industry’s current challenges and future opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to driving innovation and improving wind turbine reliability.
